A month after Snowflake Summit 2026, what’s left are the strategic signals that will shape enterprise AI over the next several years.

With 20,000+ attendees and more than 26 new capabilities announced, Snowflake Summit 2026 wasn’t really about new features. It was about a new architectural vision for enterprise AI.

CoCo (formerly Cortex Code) understands your live Snowflake environment – including schemas, access controls, and data lineage – before generating SQL, dbt models, and pipelines from natural language prompts. Since its February 2026 launch, CoCo has become Snowflake’s fastest-growing product, adopted by more than 7,100 accounts.
At Summit, Snowflake positioned CoCo as more than a coding assistant, extending it into a full AI-powered development environment:
The business impact is tangible: migrations that once took six months can now be completed in as little as 1-2 weeks. CoCo streamlines the entire process – from workload assessment and code conversion to validation and deployment – through a single AI-orchestrated workflow.
CoWork (formerly Snowflake Intelligence) extends AI beyond data teams, giving business users a way to interact with governed enterprise data using natural language instead of SQL. It goes beyond answering questions to proactively surfacing insights, automating workflows, and generating deliverables like PDFs, presentations, and reports directly within the tools your employees already use.
New at Summit:
The business impact: faster decisions, reduced dependency on specialist data teams, and an AI layer that learns how your organization actually works.
96% of organizations cite security as the primary reason AI pilots don’t make it to production. Snowflake addressed this directly with three interlocking layers:
Horizon Context gives every tool, team, and AI agent the same trusted business definitions, eliminating the “depends which dashboard you look at” problem that plagues most organizations running AI at scale.
AI Agent Identity provides every agent a verified identity before it can access enterprise data or take action, enforcing role-based permissions and maintaining a complete audit trail of every agent activity.
AI Security Posture Management adds continuous monitoring via the Trust Centre, with machine learning detection of prompt injection flaws and other vulnerabilities.
The bottom line: you can deploy AI agents at scale without losing control over what they access or do.
Two infrastructure announcements complete the picture. Snowflake Datastream is a fully managed, Kafka-compatible streaming service that brings real-time data and AI together in a single governed platform, no separate streaming infrastructure required. Apache Iceberg v3 reached general availability with the broadest feature support of any platform, enabling read/write interoperability across compute engines including Databricks and Spark.
On the ecosystem side: Snowflake is one of ten launch partners in Anthropic’s Claude Marketplace, with Claude Opus 4.8 powering both CoWork and CoCo. The Natoma acquisition by Snowflake extends governance beyond data, to every action an AI agent takes across SaaS apps, APIs, and tools.
If you’re already on Snowflake, the most important announcement is Horizon Context.
