Job Description: Offshore Data / Business Analyst 

The Data/Business Analyst acts as a specialized liaison between business stakeholders and the data implementation team. This role is responsible for deeply understanding business processes, gathering and documenting functional requirements, identifying and validating the data sources that support those requirements, and translating everything into clear, actionable tickets for delivery teams.  This position plays a critical role in enabling data‑driven solutions for large‑scale operational and customer‑facing initiatives. 

Key Responsibilities 

1. Requirements Elicitation & Business Analysis 

– Engage with business SMEs to understand workflows, policies, data needs, and desired business outcomes. 

– Conduct structured discovery sessions to gather detailed functional requirements with the support of onshore Product Management team. 

– Document current‑state and future‑state process flows, data dependencies, and business rules. 

– Translate business objectives into clear requirements. 

2. Data Source Identification & Data Understanding 

– Identify and validate data sources that support business requirements. 

– Produce detailed data dictionaries, mapping documents, and lineage diagrams. 

– Support data profiling activities. 

3. User Story & Ticket Creation 

– Break requirements into epics, features, and stories. 

– Write acceptance criteria, data validation rules, and transformation logic. 

– Ensure tickets are granular and technically actionable. 

4. Cross‑Functional Collaboration 

– Serve as the bridge between business users, product teams, data engineering, QA. 

– Participate in grooming, sprint planning, refinement, and defect triage. 

5. Quality Assurance & Validation Support 

– Support QA in understanding expected behaviors and data rules. 

– Validate data outputs. 

Required Skills & Experience 

– 4–6 years in Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or hybrid roles. 

– Strong SQL and data exploration experience. 

– Hands-on experience with at least one modern cloud data warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks SQL, Azure Synaps). 

– Proficiency with ADO/Jira/Confluence. 

Preferred Qualifications 

– Experience with property management or financial operations. 

– Exposure to data governance. 

– Experience with Databricks, PowerBi, Profisee and Purview. 

– Familiarity with Agile/Scrum. 

Success Measures 

– Requirements are implementation‑ready. 

– Tickets are clear with minimal rework. 

– Data mappings and rules accelerate delivery.
